Transmitters of Information Returns must complete the Transmitter (IRS) page of the Transmitter/Submitter Information dialog. Account Ability uses this information to create the Transmitter (T) record for information returns reported electronically through the IRS FIRE System.

Transmitter (IRS) Information

 

bullet_boxName, street address, city, state, and ZIP code ("TRANSMITTER")

Enter the legal name associated with the Employer Identification Number (EIN) and the complete address of the organization that will submit electronic files through the IRS FIRE System.

 

bullet_boxCompany associated with problem media or electronic files

Enter the name and address of the company to receive correspondence relating to problem media. If the company associated with problem media is the same as the TRANSMITTER, click the Copy name and address button, which will appear as the cursor enters this group.

 

bullet_boxContact name, 10-digit telephone with extension, and e-mail ("CONTACT")

This group contains the name, telephone number, and e-mail address of the person to be contacted if IRS/IRB encounters problems with an electronic transmission.

 

Name | Telephone: The dividing bar displayed in this field separates the contact name from the telephone number. The contact name is entered to the left of the dividing bar; the telephone number to the right. When entering the telephone number, omit hyphens and follow the number with an optional extension. For example, the telephone number 631-249-7744, ext. 3321, would be entered as 63124977443321.
E-mail: Enter the contact's e-mail address.

 

bullet_boxEmployer Identification Number ("EIN")

Enter the Employer Identification Number (EIN), Qualified Intermediary Number (QI-EIN), Withholding Partnership Number (WP-EIN), or Withholding Trust Number (WT-EIN) of the organization transmitting the electronic files. Social Security Numbers (SSN) are not permitted

 

bullet_boxIRS FIRE TCC

Enter your IRS FIRE Transmitter Control Code (TCC) for filing forms 1097, 1098, 1099, 3921, 3922, 5498 and W-2G in the 1099's box. If you also have a TCC for filing form 1042-S, enter it in the 1042-S box.

 

bullet_boxFile Form 4419

To apply for an Original TCC, complete all of the above information and click File Form 4419. Account Ability will direct you to the IRS FIRE System where you will be required to file Form 4419 online.
To Revise a previously approved Form 4419, enter changes in the TRANSMITTER and/or CONTACT groups, then click File Form 4419. Account Ability will prepare and print a revised Form 4419, which you must mail or fax to IRS. If you need to revise your EIN you will need to file for an original TCC.
To apply for an Additional TCC for a form type for which you currently have an active TCC listed in the IRS FIRE TCC group, click File Form 4419. Account Ability will prepare and print an Additional TCC Request Form 4419, which you must mail or fax to IRS.

Use the Roll Forward button to roll forward 2018 transmitter information.
The Roll Forward button will be disabled once this dialog is complete.
You can file for multiple companies using a single TCC.
An IRS FIRE TCC cannot be used to file ACA Forms 1094/1095.
An IRS FIRE TCC cannot be used to file forms W-2, W-2c.
